Kona Peaberry Coffee â The Coffee That Will Not Bring You Any Disappointment

I never missed to request a bag of the popular Kona Peaberry coffee as souvenir whenever I have friends flying off to Hawaii. Kona coffee is well known for its deep and rich bean which is smooth, mellow and full-bodied in flavor. As a result, it produces a cup of coffee that is very aromatic. Since Kona is basically located at a higher place; it is certainly the ideal place for growing the finest coffee beans. Konaâs climate combination of sunny mornings, rainy or cloudy afternoons assist to produce an excellent coffee bean.
Kona coffee is only grown around the district of Kona which is on the Big Island of Hawaii. The area for cultivation measures about one mile in width and 30 miles in length. In addition, coffees that are grown in other area of the island are called âHawaiianâ. The name âHawaiianâ is also given to coffee that is grown in Kona but falls under the âPrimeâ grade.
The Kona coffee is categorized as âExtra Fancyâ. It is not only more expensive but the beans are bigger, denser and unusual as it only make up of nearly 5% of the coffee bean crop. The peaberry is unique in a sense that coffee cherry produces only one bean instead of the normal two. Its shape is like a football and has lower acid content compared to regular beans. There is saying that the way the bean is shaped causes it to roast differently from other beans and thus emits a different taste.
It is proposed to use a French Press coffee pot to prepare coffee as it will bring out the actual flavor of the bean itself. What other better way to enjoy and take in the rich flavor of the Kona coffee beans then. When the coffee is produced through this method, you will get a cup of coffee which is concentrated, smooth yet intense in flavor as well.
Remember to check the ingredient label of a package of the Kona coffee during purchase. Do ensure that it is 100% original Kona coffee as sometimes they might put as âKonaâ blend. If that is the case, it could mean that it is partly consist of Hawaiian coffee which is grown in other areas blend together with the Kona coffee itself.
In a nutshell, it is well worth to chip in the extra to buy pure Kona Peaberry coffee. I shall guarantee that one will not regret over the purchase.Â
